Cuellar works tirelessly for District 28; he deserves voter support in November

To the editor:

I’ve been reading the letters to the editor regarding Congressional District 28 and I’ve noticed that supporters for Mr. Bryan Underwood have begun their campaign to dissuade the local Democrats from continuing to vote for our current representative, Congressman Henry Cuellar.

I guess in politics every effort to gain votes is valid. Letter writing campaigns, smear campaigns, facts distorting campaigns, you name it.

Its only purpose is to convince others that we need a change for someone whom we think will do a better job.

Allow me to offer you a different viewpoint.

About four years ago, I worked briefly as a temporary part-time administrative assistant for Congressman Cuellar.

I was assigned to the local office, and drove Henry throughout the 11 counties which comprised District 28 then.

I thought it would entail occasionally driving to San Antonio, Seguin, Floresville, Jourdanton, San Marcos, Moore, Zapata and Laredo.

“How hard can this job be?” I thought. Let me say that I found out.

When Congress is not in session, Congressman Cuellar visits his constituents throughout the district.
